Writing Feminist Life Together Learning Sessions
For More Resources:
Customized sessions offer individual support for the change process and contemplative practices
discussed in the Writing Feminist Life Together podcast.
Learning sessions are held over Skype, or in-person if in NYC.
What do learning sessions include?
Sessions are 75-minutes. While the work is not therapy, we do deep work honoring and connecting our lived stories to the larger work of social change and healing.
Before our session, I will send you a short, guided reflection asking what ideas and practices from the Writing Feminist Life Together podcast you would like to focus on and why. This reflection also includes a short contemplative writing exercise meant to connect you to your body and the knowledge stirring within you. Creating space for this reflective pre-work helps both of us best prepare for our time together.
After our session, I create a personalized recording with follow-up reflections and steps for you on your journey, including suggested reading (based on your interests and learning needs) of feminist foremothers.
What is the investment?
A single, stand-alone learning session is $225. You may also purchase a package of 4 (to be used in 8 weeks) for $795.
May I split the cost and have a friend do the session with me?
Yes!—you may do the learning sessions with 1–2 other friends, kin, partners, or colleagues. Many people prefer the 1:1 format for a more individualized experience. That said, I offer the small group format as a more budget friendly version for those with limited financial resources, as well as to encourage learning in community.
I mainly want to pick your scholarly brain for reading suggestions or questions about feminist topics related to my own profession and life. Is this the right service?
Yes! People frequently write me to ask for reading suggestions and my take on a variety of feminist-minded questions and topics. This is the service that provides you the best support and also compensates my feminist expertise and labor.
I'd like to sign up. When and how do I pay and schedule my first session?
Please contact me to schedule the time/date of your session. Learning sessions are then paid through PayPal, Venmo, or by check. (Please note I cannot hold sessions on the calendar until payment is received.)
The principles I teach are informed by 15 years of scholarly research and writing, as well as the rich learning of collaborating alongside my students and clients. In my consulting sessions, I bring the tools of my research across 4 fields of study to address the lived complexity of seeking feminist healing and creativity.
I hold a Ph.D. (ABD) and an MA in Ethnic Studies from UC San Diego. I hold a second Master's degree from Yale University Divinity School in U.S. Religious History, where I was a Merit Scholar and a postgraduate fellow in Gender Equity and Policy. I did an additional 2-years of coursework in a second Ph.D. program in Gender, Race, Sexuality, and Social Justice. Before this path of academic social theory research, I was first trained as a psychodynamic therapist.
